Travel Expert Gennady Podolsky Explores Motivations and Inspiration

Few things in life are more entertaining or fulfilling than traveling. Seeing the sights and visiting new vistas can lead to feelings of contentment and satisfaction. Gennady Podolsky is a travel expert, writer, and logistics specialist who has spent many years traveling the world while helping his clients to do the same.

A graduate of Pennsylvania’s Swarthmore College, Podolsky broke into the public zeitgeist upon launching a tech-first travel agency. Podolsky has been recognized for his bespoke travel concierge services in recent years.

To help others in their journey, Gennady Podolsky sat down with the creative team at Ideamensch to discuss what motivates and inspires his work.

Maintaining a Productive Balance

Gennady Podolsky has long understood that you can only plan so much when discussing customer service-based industries. Gennady says, “Client needs always end up driving schedules.”

To maintain his productivity in work and life, Podolsky made it a goal of his to meet the needs of his clients wherever it is that they are. Podolsky added, “I have to remain flexible and be immediately available to assist clients promptly.”

Podolsky said, “Only after those needs are met can I focus on other daily tasks and productivity.”

In pursuing a career with so much flexibility regarding creativity and exploration, Gennady Podolsky finds the right time to get away for himself.

When he feels unfocused or simply overwhelmed, Podolsky says, “I go where my sense of wonder takes me. My focus and inspiration will return when the time is right.”

Bringing Ideas to Life

While Podolsky’s services often involve him working independently, he understands that creation is often a collaborative task that requires a strong and well-equipped team. Podolsky likes to work with collaborators ready to mirror his passion and share his excitement for the process.

Podolsky says, “It is important to have great collaborators and staff who share your vision and passion and complement your strengths and weaknesses.”

Understanding that his collaborators are only as strong as he allows them to be, Podolsky takes a long time looking inward to understand his processes better.

In an interview with Ideamensch, Podolsky stated, “To be most productive, I tend to focus on my strengths and delegate the rest.”

To help his team maximize their talents, Podolsky emboldens his collaborators to work where they are most comfortable and robust. Podolsky added in his interview, “This creates the right environment where everyone is where they want to be and is doing what they love.”
